Middle school orientation which meant seeing Oliver. Luna was over the moon excited to see him. She did look a little different because she spent the summer being an actual child, Luna went up to New York with Kennedy to spend the summer with grandparents. They adored having Luna and Kennedy for those 2 months. Luna didn’t know what to wear, if anything she didn’t want to look like she was trying too hard to get his attention. She did a messy ponytail, one of her normal baggy shirts because she truly wasn’t a fan of her body, and a pair of shorts. She was ready to walk into Lincoln Middle School with a whole new idea of what school will be like.
When they got to the school, she could see all these kids that looked just as lost as her. She was looking around thinking that maybe she would spot Oliver within the crowd to show their true love, but she couldn’t. The admission person told her that they are having a meeting with the teacher as well. Luna wanted to meet her teachers because they could tell them what they will be doing in each class and see where she’d want to sit. She started with her math class since it was her first class.
She went into that classroom and there he was, sitting at a random desk. He didn’t notice her first, Justin did and immediately jumped into Luna’s arms.
“Don’t worry, I know him.” She said out loud before they could ask who he. She had Justin in her arms and walked over to Oliver and his family.
“Hey dork, I think you lost someone in your group.” She could feel her smile was large. Oliver got out of seat and hugged Luna and she missed his hugs for the past 2 months. She put Justin down and sat next to him, but Justin sat in her lap because he truly loved Luna.
“Hey girlie, let me see your schedule so I know when I can hide from you.” She handed him her schedule and took his schedule. She was looking at it, she said they had three classes together, math, science, and chorus. She knew that he would be in the chorus class because he was in chorus since 3rd grade like her, but she thought that he would switch it up to make sure he didn’t get bullied by other people for being a guy in a singing group.
“Clearly you didn’t get rid of me that much since we have 3 classes together. Starting our mornings together and ending our days together, and I see you in the middle after lunch.”
“Good, if I don’t have my girlie at least once a day I get sad.” Oliver was more confident especially since her parents were right there.
“For the chorus class, I was thinking if we sit at the top since we are both short we will end up in the front for performances. What do you think girlie?”
“Sure, but what if the teacher already has assigned seats for all of us?”
“Well, we won’t know that until the first day of school. I also doubt they will have assigned seats for chorus as long as we are able to sing our notes correctly” He wasn’t wrong, but he was a tenor singer and she was a soprano singer, them being right next to each other was going to be rough hitting the correct notes. She knows she’s going to have issues singing next to him, but she doesn’t know how bad it is going to be. They both wanted to check out the science room, there was a sea of parents in there. Guessing that the science teacher is cool or that he is telling the parents everything that we will need on the first day. Luna’s mom was taking notes which meant they needed to go school shopping again. Luna actually liked school shopping because she was picky with what she used for school, like the pens and pencils. Luna loved writing with pens but her teachers wanted her to use a pencil in case she messed up.
She waved to Oliver before she was leaving because she knew she was going to see him in a few days.
