She got in the passenger seat and just looked at Marc. Since Christmas, their relationship has been so different. She rarely spoke with Marc nowadays because she didn’t know how to handle the statement of ‘she’s not my daughter,’ she still never got that apology. At this point, Luna didn’t want an apology; she didn’t even like being around Marc like how she used to be.
“How was rehearsal?” Great!!!! Small talk, Luna hates small talk more than anything.
“Good, I was given a solo.”
“That’s great kiddo! I’m proud of you! We should celebrate!” Luna hated this whole moment, she wanted to get home as fast as possible.
“I guess.”
“You don’t sound happy about it, this is great.” She believes that she is happy about the whole thing especially after talking with Mrs. Carrie, but she knows that the minute she gets home it won’t matter anymore.
“I am, I am just tired from school, that's all.”
“Also who was that girl that was waiting for you when you got out of the school?” Crap! He saw the mini argument with Heather, come on Luna come up with something believable.
“Oh that’s just Heather. She likes to wait for me after rehearsal, that’s all.” LIES! This better not become a habit again.
“Oh that’s nice of her.”
“Yeah, she’s the sweetest.” Luna could feel her stomach churning as she said that line. Luna couldn’t stand Heather and she wished that she could fight her but she knew that fighting Heather would be losing Matthew’s friendship and more. As the remaining car ride was silent the only thing filling the silence was the radio. Listening to XL 106.7, it was playing Baby from Justin Beiber. When they got home, she was just ready to go to bed even though she knew she had homework to do.
“How was school, Luna?”
“Good, passed my math test with flying colors.” Pulled out the test from her bag, in the process Luna saw a note in there that was never in there before. Probably Heather doing something stupid.
“Wow! Proud of you.” Right after she said that Marc chimed in.
“She also got a solo for her show.”
“Luna, that's huge! Why didn’t you start with that?”
“I’m just tired, that's all, I’m just hungry and ready to go to bed.”
“Oh, well I have your plate in the microwave already, just heat it up for a 01:30.”
“Okay.” Luna took out her homework as well to do it while she ate her dinner. She knew she was going to need to look at that note when she got into her room because she didn’t want her mother watching her read a random note. Luna ate her dinner as fast as possible without any issues and did half of her homework as well. She cleaned her dishes, took a water bottle and went to her room. When she got to her room, she took the note out. She couldn’t recognize the handwriting. She opened up the note, “stop acting like you don’t know the truth.” What kind of note is that? Is that a threat? She was curious about who wrote it, oh well. She crumbled the note up and threw it back in her bag to throw it out at school. Luna focused back on her homework so she could just relax without thinking of anything else. å
