As time was going, Luna was able to figure out where all her classes were without having issues. She even made friends in all her classes so then she can sit with someone and swap notes if things were too confusing. She was constantly helping Oliver with math, but she never complained because she was always fine with helping him. Luna always wanted to remind Oliver that he can always rely on her even if she is in a bad mood. Something was changing around her and she couldn’t tell what it was.
“Are you going to be good for science class or should we just sit somewhere else?” Luna was looking at Oliver who made sure to make it before Joaquin.
“I’ll be good, I just don’t trust him,” of course Oliver didn’t trust Joaquin. When Oliver would come into science after Luna and Joaquin, he would see them laughing and just talking about their passions. Luna has been keeping her distance from Joaquin as well because she had him in her English class. Also because she was starting to get a little crush on Joaquin because they had so much in common from hobbies to nationality to their love of music; but she knew that it was a little crush and that she would never make that move because of Oliver. She knew she loved Oliver because she couldn’t see herself with anyone else but Oliver.
“Hey Luna!!” Luna turned around to see Lorraine walking toward her.
“Hey Lorraine, what’s up?”
“I just saw you on your way to chorus class, so I thought it would be smart to walk with someone that is going to the same place and sitting in the same section.” Luna was already in her head because of the whole Joaquin situation and it’s not like she has a friend that knows Oliver and her history.
“That’s a good idea, hey Lorraine, can I talk to you about something? You can’t tell Oliver though, it would destroy him.” Bit of an over exaggeration flare but she needed to make sure that Lorraine wouldn’t tell Oliver.
“Sure, what’s going on?”
“I think I have a crush on someone that is not Oliver and I don’t know what to do because I am madly in love with Oliver.” Lorraine is the first person she told that wasn’t Laurissa and the fact that she was okay with telling Lorraine wasn’t a bad thing because she didn’t know when was the next time she’d be seeing Laurissa again.
“Woah, I mean I knew there was something there but you are sure that you are in love with Oliver. Just because you have a crush doesn’t mean you are hurting Oliver, if anything it will make your love for him stronger.” She’s not wrong, but Luna had this feeling in her gut that it was wrong to have a crush on anyone that isn’t Oliver.
“I guess you’re right, I just feel like I shouldn’t be having a crush when I love Oliver.”
“Luna, having a crush on someone isn’t going to change your love. Does Oliver know that you have a crush?”
“No, if anything…the guy I have a crush on, Oliver is already extremely jealous of him.”
“Woah! So your crush and Oliver know each other? How does that work?”
“Well, all three of us are in a class together. When Oliver sees us together, he gets jealous immediately and tries to act like he is my boyfriend even though he isn’t yet.”
“Well, then I have another question, what is stopping you guys from dating?” Great question! Luna was stopping them from dating because she was scared of what would happen to their friendship if the relationship went wrong. More than that she didn’t know how her parents were going to react. She never really spoke about boys with her mom because she knew that her mom would tell her to focus on school and that boys can follow later after school was done.
“I guess to answer that is a bit more complicated because I don’t have an actual answer on why we aren’t dating; because I know he want to date already to make sure that no one takes his girlie but also some part of me is expecting a huge gesture to ask me out, if that makes sense.” Also a good thing to bring up, it’s not like Oliver is saying ‘Luna, will you go out with me?’ If anything, he just expects her to just say we are dating and that’s it.
“So you are waiting for him or are you both waiting for each other? If you are expecting something from him, you should probably tell him because boys are dumb. Also don’t worry about that crush, you’ll get over it soon.” Her timing to bring up the crush was horrible because we were walking closer to Oliver. He was like five footsteps ahead of Lorraine and Luna. Luna is hoping he didn’t hear it, or that he just thinks that these are two random girls talking right behind him.
“Let’s take a shortcut, I found this week.” She grabbed Lorraine to turn into the hallway at the right time, she looked over and saw Oliver looking back to see who was behind him. Good job Luna! Hiding from your love because you were talking about your crush.
“Sorry, I had to do that. Oliver was right in front of us and he was about to look back to see who was talking about crushes because he recognized your voice. But, I didn’t lie, this is a shortcut because the chorus room is right down this hallway.” Which wasn't a lie, she found it after hiding from Joaquin. This was getting out of hand, Lorraine is right. Luna should just tell Oliver what she is feeling right now. She doesn’t know how to go about it without him either getting sad, mad or hating her forever. When we got into the chorus room, they beat Oliver to the class which can either be a good thing or a bad thing because he was right in front of them when they were talking about Joaquin. Act normal Luna, don’t go crazy over nothing
