Get Her Out cont.

Luna couldn’t stand that woman more than anything. She was just counting down the days until she was going to see Laurissa. She was excited to tell her about Oliver.
“Hey dad, when are we going to see Laurissa? I want to ask her some questions.” She knew that if she said anything that had to do with Oliver, he’d immediately ask who Oliver was, and then try to act tough when we both knew that he was the biggest teddy bear around.
“You can spend the rest of the week with her. Do you want to do that?” She automatically knew why he was okay with sending her away. Raina got to him… again. Raina was always jealous of the relationship Luna and her dad had. Key word... had. Her dad would choose Raina’s side over Luna’s, and it was always because of Raina’s children.
Three rude, obnoxious, idiotic kids; Luna already hated Raina, but those kids were her own personal hell. She knew it. The moment they said hi; that it wasn’t a true hi. In her eyes, she saw all three of them plotting her death.
Luna hated them in a specific order. The youngest Janice, Janice was probably three or four years old, then the oldest Lucas, he was around fourteen years old, and then the middle kid Harry. Luna rarely saw Harry because he lived with his biological father, unlike Janice and Lucas.
“Of course, I’d want that. I haven’t seen Laurissa in a year. I miss her. Would you be staying with us as well?” Luna already knew that answer was going to be no, but she wanted to make him feel guilty for taking Raina’s side, as usual.
“You know I can’t stay the whole week; I have to take Raina to her appointments because we don’t know when your baby sister is coming out.” That’s how Luna found out the gender of this random kid. Luna already had one younger sister on her mom’s side, and now she has another one coming out of this treacherous woman.
“I guess, but congrats on having another girl.” She thought nothing about her statement, but clearly her father was shocked by it. She realized he found out that he never told her the gender of his kid, which made him feel worse.
“Thanks, honey. Sorry, I didn’t tell you we found out about the gender. I was going to call you after finding out, but I think I got busy because Raina needed me to do something for her.”
“Of course she did. Quick question about that moment.” Here’s the chance she was waiting for. The moment that maybe her father would finally put the two together.
“What’s up?”
“Did you tell Raina that you were going to call me? Or did you say you were just going to call someone about their gender?”
“I told her, ‘I am going to call Luna to tell her the great news.’ Why do you ask?” Wow! Luna’s dad was more oblivious than she thought.
“I just find it weird that the moment you say you are going to call me, she has you doing something for her. Don’t you think so?”
“Luna, not this again. Raina isn’t out to get you. Stop being dramatic.” She brainwashed him well, since this wasn’t their first talk on this topic. She just wanted him to see what she saw.
“Fine, whatever. What day am I leaving?” She was done with being in this conversation, and worse, she was done with being in that house.
“I can take you tomorrow. Let me just call Laurissa and make sure she is home.”
“Let me call her. She’ll be home if I do the talking.” He handed her his phone; she knew she needed to call Laurissa and practically beg her to be home tomorrow. She also saw her mother’s number. She was tempted to call her, and just tell her the weird feeling that she has been having in that house. She decided not to, because she didn’t know were idiots one and two were hiding. They always had a way of showing up randomly when she was trying to do something for herself. She called Laurissa.
“Hello!”
“Hi Laurissa!”
“Luna! You’re with your dad already. When do I get to see you? I miss you!”
“Well, that’s why I was calling. The wicked witch is ‘throwing me out’ of the house. Can you please be home tomorrow? I want to tell you something completely different for me.”
“For you, I will be home. When you get here, I’ll make sure the boys are busy so we can talk about everything.”
“Call me tomorrow before you guys leave. I’ll make sure that I am up, since the witch is kicking you out as easily as 1,2,3.” Laurissa always got Luna, like Luna could say nothing and she would automatically ask her what’s wrong or ask if there was anything she could do to help Luna feel better. Luna trusted Laurissa more than anything because she understood where Luna was coming from.
“Will do. See you tomorrow.” Luna hung up, turned around to see her dad standing behind her. She didn’t know how much he heard, but she hopes that isn’t too much to ask what Laurissa and I are going to talk about.
“How long have you been standing there?” Please don’t say it the whole time!
“Most of the calls. What are you and Laurissa going to talk about tomorrow that you couldn’t talk about with me?”
“We are going to talk about my newest celebrity crush, because I learned all of their lives to make sure that when I meet them in person, all I have to say is ‘I know so much about you, but I want to know more’ and give a funny wink. Why? What did you think we were going to talk about?” That was the best lie that she ever came up with on a short notice. Now let’s see if he buys it.
“I just don’t want you telling her that Raina is out to get you. Laurissa has her own family problems to worry about. I don’t need her asking questions.” He doesn’t want her to tell Laurissa anything going on in this nuthouse. Too late, because if you heard most of the call, then you heard me call the woman carrying your child, the wicked witch. Luna wasn’t sorry about the name she gave her. The wicked witch is an understatement of what she truly was. In Luna’s eyes, Raina was a monster with three heads. Each head symbolizes all her different faces she shows people.
“Okay dad, I won’t tell her about anything going on here. I don’t know why you are so upset at me, though. Did I do something wrong?”
“No, maybe. I don’t know if I am completely honest. Raina gave Lucas some chores to do today while we were out. He said that he told you to do it, but clearly none of those chores were done. Did he tell you to do it or not? You don’t have to protect him?” Another reason she hated this family, they are the laziest family anyone has ever met. She told her son to do it, and instead of him doing it, he yelled at me to do it. This time he didn’t tell Luna anything, but he still pinned the blame on her.
“No, he stayed in your room watching tv. I was out here in the living room playing on the XBOX. Should I have done the chores?”
“No, you didn’t have to do his chores. I will have a chat with him and Raina. She took his side immediately.” Wow, he’s taking her side for once. Let’s see how this is going to play out, Raina is going to say that Luna is a liar, while her dad will say that Luna is going to say the truth and nothing but the truth, Lucas is going to say that he yelled it from the room, and in the end, Lucas gets caught in his own lie because no one heard a yell from her dad’s room. She knew there was no point in being there for that argument because she knows that somehow Lucas is going to blame everything on her.
She just stayed on the couch reading her Christmas book that Mrs. Lewis gave her. Mrs. Lewis gave everyone a book to read this Christmas break because she doesn’t want us to stop learning. She also assigned us to write a summary of our books. With Luna’s luck, she knew that if she didn’t read the book, her mother would force her to read the book and redo the entire summary but double the pages. As Luna read the rest of the day away, it was time for her to go to bed; she didn’t pack a bag because she knew Janice would take it all out and make a mess for her to clean up.
