She saw Lucy and Luna immediately remembered what happened to Lucy.
“Hey Lucy, how’s it going?”
“Why do you care?”
“I deserve that, I know I haven’t been a good friend to you and that’s my fault. I should have been there for you and I am sorry.”
“I don’t understand why you weren’t defending me, you defend Aaron immediately but me it was a question for yourself. Why? I thought we were friends.”
“If I am completely honest, I haven’t fully been here these days. The only reason I defend Aaron immediately is because he is always right then, but that is my fault for not defending you. I was made aware that I walked past that whole situation looking like the biggest jerk to you because I do see you as a friend. I wish I could go back and fix how I handled it but I can’t, but I want you to know that you are my friend and I care about you and I am sorry for not being there for you.” She saw Lucy getting ready to cry. Luna pulled Lucy in for a hug, they both cried a little. She could feel Lucy holding her tight. We let each other go and we cleaned our faces from our tears.
“I forgive you, I miss our friendship so much.”
“I miss it too, and if I am ever being a jerk let me know. I don’t notice it sometimes, I will admit. I just chose to be a jerk to Aaron, that’s why I was late to class.”
“What did you do?”
“I walked him to class after I found out that the 7th graders think me and him are dating.” Lucy’s eyes blew up and her mouth opened immediately. While Luna was smiling as if she just found out she won the fight.
“How does that work? No one in our grade has said anything about that. Wait, did you just confirm their rumors?”
“No, I was dragging him by his bag. I didn’t hug him or anything. Right before he got into the classroom, he called me a jerk. I’ll probably deal with that later but it was funny.”
“So you and Aaron are a thing?”
“Oh god no, he is a good friend but I cannot see him as a boyfriend. He already knows that.”
“That’s fair, but you guys could have looked like a cute couple.”
“Nahhh, he has his reputation to maintain.” While Luna said that she was doing air quotes with her hands. Lucy and Luna were laughing a lot because his reputation was dumb. She was happy to be laughing with Lucy, Luna did wish she could go back in time and fix this moment.
