End of the 6th Grade cont.

Don’t get Luna wrong, she thought that Aaron was a cute guy, his eyes were this weird hazel color but in the light there was a hint of dark green with the hazel; his smile always made her feel warm even when he was making his weird faces to her, they were always warm; his hair was average but he told everyone that he was growing it out to look like he came from California when he didn’t. She laughed to herself just thinking about when he said that to her. She liked being with Aaron, but she didn’t like him like that. Does anyone else think that Aaron and Luna are dating? She hoped not.
The bell rang and she already saw Aaron waiting outside, “who else thinks we are dating?” She was blunt but she needed this information.
“Well hello to you too, how was your class, mine was good.”
“Yeah yeah yeah, now who else thinks we are dating?”
“You are still focused on that, I told you not to worry about it especially because it is the last day of school, no one is going to remember by September.”
“Aaron, what aren’t you telling me?” As she said that, Aaron stopped in his tracks and he chose to hold her wrist to stop her as well.
“I am telling you the truth, just don’t bother with it. Please.” She had never seen this side of Aaron, she was worried now. She had to wait until they were at home because no one in school could add more to the fire.
“Okay I won’t, let’s go.” She got him to start walking and pulling Aaron. She wanted to walk him to his class for once, just to make sure he was okay.
“Where is your next class?” He looked at her like she was crazy to even ask that question.
“Why?”
“You know why dummy, come on, lead the way to your class. I am walking you to class like a good friend would in this moment.” He led the way to his class because in the other building of the school, she didn’t care if she was late to this class. This teacher hardly cared about attendance, she doubted they would care on the last day. He looked at her questioning why she was doing this, but she knew clearly that something was going on and she was going to find out one way or another.
“You don’t have to take me all the way.”
“Aaron, what’s going on? Why don’t you want me to take you all the way to your class? What are you hiding?”
“Fine. So my entire grade thinks I am dating you for your body, I tried stopping the rumors but it got out of hand. It hasn’t touched your grade or Derek’s grade, yet. That’s why I said it’s going to be gone by September. Please don’t be mad at me.” So his entire grade thinks Luna is his girlfriend. She couldn’t help but laugh. She didn’t care about rumors, she thought he started them but since he said he tried to stop it said that he didn’t start it which was good.
“You’re laughing? Why? Am I going to die now?”
“No you’re not going to die. I am laughing because I thought you were telling everyone that we were dating but the fact that you were truly to stop it and made sure it didn’t go to the 6th graders or then 8th graders, I just find it hilarious. Come on, let’s go to your class.” She was destined to take Aaron to class now. She was still laughing while Aaron was hesitant on letting her continue. She held his hand to make it worse for him but he looked at her with confusion on why she was doing this to him.
“Luna, why are you having fun with this? I don’t want you to deal with issues with your boyfriend, not boyfriend.”
“Well for starters, he isn’t my boyfriend. I love him and I want to be with him but not until I am ready for him which isn’t now. Second, this is more interesting for me because I have never been in this kind of rumor. Usually the rumors are about my home life but my love life is more fun for me.” Wow! Luna finally admitted out loud why she isn’t dating Oliver. She felt a weight lifted off her shoulders because she didn’t know how to say it in general but she said it. She said it to Aaron and he was shocked by the whole thing and she was just as shocked.
“Fine, but this won’t be a thing in September because I need to end the year with a girl my age. I have a reputation to stand by.” Luna rolled her eyes when he started talking about his reputation. His reputation made him look like an idiot, he thought that being the class clown would be a fun reputation but her grade calls him an idiot that doesn’t care about anything; and then to top it off, him having nonstop girlfriends throughout the year made every girl her grade look at him grossly except Luna.
“Wouldn’t want to ruin your reputation Aaron. Also, I won’t be doing this again. I just think it is funny to see you squirm so much.” He started blushing, she finally got him to his classroom.
“Have fun with your class, I’ll see you later since after this class I have lunch.”
“Jerk!” She hugged him and let him go and went to her own class. She was 2 minutes late and she was okay with that.
