What Could Go Wrong? cont.

Going to her other classes felt long when she was thinking about that day, but that was two weeks ago and now…now it’s weird. She doesn’t talk to Tabitha still because she doesn’t know if she could trust her. Tabitha did tell Jennifer, Luna could guess because the next day Jennifer has been extremely sorry for Tabitha’s behavior.. Luna hardly talks to Aaron especially because he has a new girlfriend which she made it obvious that she was happy for him and he wasn’t happy with Luna’s reactions, she knew that he wanted her to be jealous but she wasn’t. Luna realized she didn’t have anyone to talk to about any of this because she couldn’t trust who is going to say anything to anyone so she’s been extremely quiet both on the bus and at home. Luna hasn’t told anyone what was going on at home, she used to tell Aaron and Oliver, but now…now it’s no one.
“I’m focused on life today, is that a problem?” She didn’t mean to snap at Edith, but she was sitting there listening to the art teacher talk about Vincent van Gogh and Luna already knows a lot about him because he is one of her favorite artists, she especially loves Almond Blossoms and Vase of Fifteen Sunflowers. The teacher was focused on the iconic piece which was Starry Night.
“Sorry, Edith, I’m just going through some stuff and I didn’t want to even come to school today but I had no choice in that moment, but I am sorry.”
“It’s fine, you know you can always talk to us about it. I know we aren’t your closest friends but we can be when we are here.” When she said closest friends, she gestured to Matthew’s table. She didn’t even see herself close with Matthew and all of them, they were all just there for her. She looked at Matthew as Aaron’s replacement without having to deal with feelings. It might be nice to have friends outside her friend group.
“I know, I just don’t know how to explain it even to myself yet. When I can explain it to myself, I will tell you guys. Is that okay?”
“Yes, just talk to us. We are just worried about you, like I know I am. I’m assuming Penelope does too?” Luna was shocked that she was making friends even though she didn’t know how she did it. Luna was just being nice to everyone and anyone because she liked being nice to people. She always chose to be nice because when no one was nice to her, she chose to be nice to everyone including the people that were mean to her. Luna looked at Penelope, who was nodding with agreement that she was worried about Luna too.
“I’m sorry to make you guys worried, if I had known you guys cared so much I would have tried to figure it out a little earlier.” She wanted to lighten up the rest of the period by making a dumb joke. Her table was full of laughs and jokes for the rest of the period because she didn’t want to cause any sadness to Edith or Penelope. Art was about to be done, she saw everyone getting ready to leave. Luna didn’t want to wait or walk with Matthew, not today.
She got a text from her mom to call her when Luna got home. Luna was questioning what she did wrong, she even questioned if she did all her chores or not. She was scared to call her mom. She wasn’t ready to find out why she was about to be punished. Luna kept her headphones on the entire bus ride, she didn’t want to talk to anyone, she was just scared. When she got off the bus and went home, her mom was already home.
This is really bad! Oh God! She wasn’t ready for the punishment.
