Time Tells All...cont.

“Can you please leave.”
“Luna, don’t shut us out.”
“I am asking nicely, please leave and make sure everyone outside is gone too. Thank you.” Luna walked to her room with her head lowered from the amount of pain she was feeling. She heard the door close. It was quiet everywhere except in her head. All she could hear was ‘you caused this’ and ‘you are the mistake.’ Luna locked her bedroom door because she was broken inside. She heard the front door open again, and heard a knock on her door. She walked over to unlock the door, it was her mom. She didn’t want to see anyone right now.
“Luna, can we talk?”
“No, I’m sorry but no. I would like to just be alone right now.” Luna was completely drained out and sad.
“Luna, please listen to me. Your dad was wrong here.”
“I don’t care who is right and wrong right now. I asked to be alone right now and you are still going. I am going for a walk since you would rather keep talking about this. I will walk Chewie when I come back.” Luna grabbed her jacket, her iPod and headphones, and just left. She didn’t care about what her mom was going to say next. She ran down the stairs and saw the police were still there, she didn’t even go to them either. She just ran. She heard her name, but she didn’t care anymore. She needed to be away from it all. She slowed down and found herself at the jungle gym on the other side of the complex. She just laid on the top section so when they would start looking for her, she knew no one would see her. She plugged her headphones into her iPod and just shuffled all the songs she had added from Limewire. She started singing along to the songs because she was learning the songs more and more.
‘If I lay here/If I just lay here/Would you lie with me and just forget the world?/Forget what we're told/Before we get too old/Show me a garden that's burstin' into life’
She didn’t care who could hear her or how bad she sounded. She just wanted the voices in her head to shut up for at least two minutes. She saw someone coming by, it was Marc. Luna lowered her voice and watched as he walked by, it wasn’t that she didn’t want to be seen by Marc but she also wasn’t ready to talk to anyone yet.
“Luna please come home. No one will be mad at you. We want you safe.” Safe…what does that word mean in their eyes. Clearly the only place she was safe was at Laurissa’s house but that wasn’t an option at that moment. She was starting to hate the idea of being safe. If she wanted safety, she would have never dealt with Raina, she would have never dealt with Aaron, or worse she would have never been born if she has no one that knows how to keep her safe.

“So let me on down/'Cause time has made me strong/I'm starting to move on/I'm gonna say this now/Your chance has come and gone/And you know.../It's just too little too late/A little too wrong, and I can't wait/But you know all the right things to say/You know it's just too little too late/You say you dream of my face/But you don't like me, you just like the chase/To be real, it doesn't matter anyway/You know it's just too little too late.”

Singing was the only thing that made her feel safe. She felt like she could be away from the horrible reality she was in. She wanted to cry. Scream. Maybe worse. She didn’t want to do worse, she didn’t want to be found, she wanted to run away from everyone.
“Whatcha doing up here alone?” She looked up hoping it wasn’t Aaron, it wasn’t. It was Derek, she was okay with that.
“Hiding from the world.”
“Why?”
“Life sucks and so I stay away.”
“Wanna talk about it?”
“What’s there to talk about? The fact that my parents are fighting over me and the stupidity that comes with it, or we can talk about how your brother keeps thinking that he has a chance with me and when I was completely hurt he asked if he could kiss me. What would you like to talk about?”
“What! Tell me everything, don’t think I won’t care and just know I will want to kill Aaron.” Luna went down all the rabbit holes of all the chaos that was happening, she could help but start crying from the recapping. She wanted it all to end but she knew that she needed to tell him everything or she wouldn’t feel any better. She went down the other rabbit hole of her and Aaron and she could feel her anger as she talked about that issue. Derek sat there and listened to her and didn’t say a single word because he watched her breaking down into nothing. When started talking about his brother, she could see him getting angry with his brother’s actions and behavior. As she was slowly getting to the end of everything, she could feel herself getting tired from saying everything and crying.
“I’m sorry all of this has been happening to you. Aaron has made it seem like you are the happiest girl in the world, so when I see you like this it hurts me. I wish you weren’t feeling alone in all of this, you can always call me if anything. Now, about my brother…do you want me to fight him for you?” Luna couldn’t help but hug Derek, she needed a big brother hug and that’s what she got. He didn’t let her go, she cried in his arms, holding him as tight as she possibly could and he let her. She was scared and broken and he saw and wanted to help her catch a breath. He listened to her breathing and she was slowly calming down.
“Okay, let me take you home Luna. Your parents are probably worried about you.” He pulled her up and held her arm. She was destroyed and she knew this was killing her inside. As Derek took her back home, he could tell that she was scared to go home after storming off.
“Luna, you are braver than you look. I know that is saying something but at the end of it all, you will come out even stronger than you are now.” She knew he wasn’t lying but she didn’t want to be strong or brave, she wanted safety. More than anything she wanted to be safe again. She saw her apartment slowly, she saw her mom sitting on the stairs.
