End of the 6th Grade cont.

When she got into science class, Oliver was calm. He didn’t look defeated like he usually did so that made her feel a bit happier. Joaquin came in and sat down in front of her, he looked annoyed.
“Alright Luna, tell me the truth? Do I have to beat up that 7th grader you are always with?” Joaquin sounded serious, she questioned what exactly happened from the hallway to the classroom.
“7th grader? Aaron? Did he do something?” She was concerned because Aaron was getting better at being nice to her friends even though they are younger than him.
“Aaron is a jerk! Why are you still friends with him?” Okay, so back to this issue. Luna swore up and down that he was just a friend and Joaquin is back at this and ON the last day! Come on man!
“What did Aaron do to you, Joaquin?” Getting straight to the point because she doesn’t truly care about his opinion anymore. Joaquin is trying to make her hate Aaron, when all he is doing is making himself the bad guy…again.
“What did he do? What didn’t he do? Luna, he just beat me up! That’s what he did!”
“I’m sorry that happened but when?”
“What do you mean when? Last period, he stopped me from going in and he beat me up and took my stuff. Why do you not seem to care?” So this timing is fun, she found Aaron roaming outside the cafeteria 5 minutes after the bell rang, she stayed by his side until he dropped her off to science. She was genuinely curious when he slipped off and beat up Joaquin. She didn’t mean it at the moment, but she snickered under her breath.
“Are you laughing at my pain? I thought we were friends, clearly not.”
“I’m not laughing at your pain Joaquin, I am just curious because all last period he was with me. We were talking about something very personal for him and that was 5 minutes AFTER the bell rang. So either you’re lying to me to get me to hate Aaron or someone that looks like Aaron beat you up? Either way, it wasn’t Aaron.” Defense! Defense! Luna was ready for any remarks Joaquin had, all while Oliver is just watching her reactions because he can tell when she’s lying or not. Joaquin was trying to figure out what to say, Luna could tell that Joaquin wasn’t expecting that response. Oliver decided to say something that she wasn’t ready for.
“What kind of personal stuff was he talking to you about?” Really, Oliver? Right now, he chose to be jealous right now!
“If you must know, he feels like his parents are getting a divorce. He was blaming himself, I was talking him off that cliff and told him to talk to his brother about how he felt about the whole situation. Happy?” She didn’t want to tell anyone what happened to Aaron, but she knew if she tried another other topic but the actual one, Oliver would know. She looked at both their faces and she knew she won both the fights to the cost of breaking someone’s trust.
“Now that you both got your answers. Joaquin, I am sorry someone beat you up last period but making false accusations isn’t the way to go, and the next time you decide to pin it on someone I know, you better have your facts checked because if it’s not you will end up back in this moment again. Clear?” Joaquin nodded his head knowing that he was stuck in a situation that he couldn’t get him out of. “And you,” As she looked at Oliver. “I expected better from you, you have personal problems that you come to me about so when I say someone else came to me about personal issues, I am not going to tell you because that would be wrong if I started sharing what was going on with you, wouldn’t it? So please don’t make me this bad guy. And please don’t make my friends the bad guys.” Oliver and Joaquin both looked sad that they were being yelled at by her. She didn’t care. She was ending these stupid arguments before she left for the summer. She didn’t want this summer to be about how she didn’t stand up for her friends or shut down these jealous actions. When class was finished, she took her time packing up her stuff.
“Luna?”
“I’m sorry, I just got annoyed that Joaquin was trying to push your button. I didn’t think you would tell us what was going on with Aaron. I do hope everything is going to be okay for him.”
“Thank you Oliver, but I didn’t need your help. Joaquin was going to lose the argument before you said anything. I don’t want you to assume that I need you to save me in every fight, this one was an automatic win for me. You adding to it, made me feel like I couldn’t fight my own battles which we both know isn’t true. I will tell Aaron that you hope everything will be okay. See you in a few months Ollie.” She walked outside by herself to the bus. She was trying to stay calm, she didn’t want to let him get the last word because she knew he would say that he loved her or something extremely sappy and she was already emotionally drained. She got on the bus and all her bus friends were celebrating because summer vacation finally started.
