7th Grade Happened

She was ready for school for once. She saw Jessica and Tabitha first when she got to the bus stop. Immediately Jessica went and hugged Luna, they must have missed her since they went out of state for the summer. She fist bumped Lucy because she knew they were chill again. She felt someone touch Luna’s back, it was Aaron. She felt the weirdness between them still.
“Hey loser, how was your summer?” Luna didn’t know what else to say so she said that, since she stopped seeing him everywhere.
“Pretty good, went camping with my cousins, what about you?” Nothing, nothing, oh and nothing. Right, she forgot about nothing. Luna didn’t do much and she hated that for herself but also she wasn’t going to say that she was practicing singing in front of everyone, no one knows here.
“Just relaxed and chilled.” Smooth Luna, she knew he knew that she did nothing all summer. She was ready to go to school at this point. Every time she looked at Aaron, she felt bad for how she treated him, but she had to keep the distance even at school. When they got on the bus, she sat with Tabitha and just leaned her head on her shoulder.
“You ready to see your boyfriend?”
“Yeah, I missed him so much this summer.”
“I am so jealous, I wish I had someone like that already.” Luna forgot that Tabitha was at the same lunch table as her when she would talk about being in love with Oliver with Karol.
“You will find yours, I believe everyone has someone looking for the other, I just got a little lucky and found mine early.” Tabitha and Luna just chilled out as they were both mentally preparing for how this school year was going to go.
When they got to the school, she picked up her schedule for the year and headed over to her first class. She looked everywhere for Oliver, she couldn’t find him. She knew she would run into him sometime during the day. She started her day with math again, she might get lucky and he was already there with a seat next to him empty. She got into the classroom and he wasn’t there. She had to keep waiting to see him. Luna met up with some familiar faces and she was glad she did but she was starting to get worried as to where Oliver was. The worst part of this was, she had no way of talking to him to see where he was. She knew what she wanted to do when she saw him. She wanted to go up to him, hold his hand and kiss his cheek and say that she wants to be with him forever.
She felt like she was missing a scene, where was Oliver? She finally saw him, he didn’t look like himself. Something happened.
“Hey loser, you okay?” He didn’t respond, which meant he might not have heard her. She tapped his shoulder to get his attention, when he turned around, it wasn’t him. Did Oliver move? As the day was going, she gave up looking for him. She just missed him at this point. She didn’t want to do anything but play where’s Oliver. She started getting toward the end of the day, she started making friends with people in her class and they were all friends with each other. She got out of her language arts class and heard her name, it was Oliver.
“Where the hell were you!? I thought you moved!” Luna was annoyed, it took all day for her to see him, and she wasn’t happy to see him anymore.
“No I didn’t move, we just have completely different schedules now.” That was the worst thing to hear but it made sense why she didn’t see him in any of her classes. She had a plan to be with him everyday, this was not a part of the plan of not having a single class with him.
“Oh, well do we have the same lunch schedule?” Maybe she just missed him at lunch, since she was sitting with a bunch of girls that were in her class. Her “friend” Heather invited her to sit with them. She did recognize one familiar face, it was Joaquin. So she didn’t have time to check the tables to see if Oliver was there. Oliver handed Luna his schedule, they didn’t have anything close to each other. She wasn’t going to see him this year. She felt her heart drop to her stomach.
“Luna! Come on, we got art!” She turned around and it was Matthew, she met him in her 2nd period class, science sadly.
“Coming!” She turned back to Oliver and said, “we aren’t done with this conversation. I do miss you dork. Hopefully, I can talk to you later.” She hugged him and gave him a quick kiss and ran over to Matthew. She didn’t even let Oliver say anything, because she didn’t want to hear the lines of Luna I don’t like you anymore or anything close to it.
“Luna, you shouldn’t hang out with that guy. He’s weirder than others.”
“Well that’s my best guy friend so I don’t think it’s smart to talk about him like that. Thanks.” They all walked into art to find out they had assigned seats.
