Flashback cont.

As she is cleaning the dishes, or should she say dish; she could hear someone coming into the kitchen. The way the apartment was set up, there was a hallway where all the rooms and bathrooms were at then a relatively large living room with the black leather couch, to see a little dining room where Luna and her dad chose this cute high table to make them feel tall when eating, and behind the high table was the kitchen area. Luna could tell who was coming by the way they stepped on the floor. Raina had an extremely hard foot, as if she needed the entire world to know that she was entering a room. Lucas had heavy feet, but it wasn’t as bad as his mother’s Godzilla steps. Janice was tiny enough to not focus on her walking patterns because they picked her up or she was running all over the place. She couldn’t tell who was coming, but she could hear their breathing as if they were trying to be ninja with asthma. She turned around to see Lucas trying to act casual, like he had just got there. She knew he didn’t. She didn’t want to talk to him after trying to kiss her several times the night before.
“Wow, look at you. You and the kitchen are a match made in heaven in my eyes.” This was a moment Luna wished she could have to say what she wanted, but couldn’t.
“I’m cleaning, go away.” As she said that, she could hear Lucas getting closer to her. She couldn’t get away because the kitchen is just a wall of everything, which means she would have to turn around and face him. Yeah, she didn’t want that. She wanted to be far away from this scene.
She stayed completely still. All she could hear was his breathing and the faucet from the sink, still running. She could smell his horrible Axe body spray as he reached his arm past her body, touching it slightly to turn off the water. Slowly returning his arm back to his side, he rubbed Luna as if he wanted her to be happy that he turned off the water. “I know you want me as much as I want you.” He whispered into Luna’s ear. All she felt was fear. She was terrified because she didn’t know if he was going to force kiss her again.
Yes, that is correct… again.
Luna could feel the pit of her stomach eating away at her soul witnessing this moment, because all she could do was stand there and act like someone was going to walk in at any moment, but no one did for half an hour. Luna was trying to hold her tears back because she knew if he knew she was crying, he would try to “comfort” her, which meant feeling her up and touching her in places she didn’t want to be touched in. She had a constant fear over her shoulder because of him, and he didn’t care.
As Luna was watching this scene play out, it was worse than anything she expected because she wasn’t expecting this scene to play all the way through. As she was watching herself get groped by Raina’s oldest child, all she did was wish for someone to put her out of her misery. Someone to just kill her because she knew no one would believe her, or worse, they would make it seem like she was lying and that she was only saying all of it to get her dad’s attention. At this moment, Luna knew no one was going to save her but herself. She shifted her elbow in a way that was making it seem like he was going to get his wish to her, elbowing him in the stomach. She left the dish in the sink and didn’t care about how “dirty” the kitchen was. All she cared about was getting out of the apartment and was going to wait for her dad outside until he got home from work.
She stayed outside for a good two hours. She didn’t care what she was wearing or how she looked. She stayed out of the apartment. She waited until her dad came home from work. She buried her head into her knees when her dad came home. She didn’t want to go back into that place. She turned around; she found the door that led her there. She opened the door and found only darkness. As Luna continued to wander through the dark, she found the door back to reality.
As she got closer to the door, all she could do was stay calm and breathe, knowing that she got through this flashback.
She looks in the mirror to see herself wearing the dress she picked out for graduation. The dress that she hoped would continue to win Oliver’s heart. She didn’t want to let him go. She knew she loved him more than anything in the world. She knew after reliving that horrid scene, nothing could hurt her as much as her past did.
